Stay tuned as we continue to lay necessary foundations and fully launch our ministry. The process is slower than we had hoped, but we are making progress. My current plan is to launch my blog this Fall.

I will begin sharing a few thoughts each week regarding personal growth and Christianity in America. The decline of the Church in the US is no secret and for several years now Christian leaders have been grasping for answers. Each new book, teaching or technique promises change but unfortunately we’re continuing to lose ground. Many of these are excellent resources and we really do have a lot of good things going, but in one sense we’re in the same quandary as the naturalists—we can’t find the missing link.

Our mechanism for life-transformation seems to be lacking. Some leaders believe that we need physical persecution for true change to happen. Personally I believe persecution will increase with time, but I see it as a result of the growth of the church and not as a tool to reverse its decline.

Simply put, our answer is where our answer has always been—in the Gospel. Col. 1:3-6 (ESV) We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth . . .

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is such a powerful life force that it bears fruit and grows wherever the grace of God is clearly understood. I believe that two primary issues have contributed to our lack of clarity in this area—familiarity and confusion. We’ve become so accustomed to our American version of the Gospel that few have failed to dig for a deeper understanding. Unfortunately those who do search for greater clarity often end up creating more confusion.

I can’t promise that our ministry efforts won’t create more questions for people, but I do believe that by God’s grace we can bring a much greater degree of clarity (and therefore growth) for those who genuinely desire to pursue God.
